I want to buy a spring piston air gun but have no idea which gun to buy. I want to use it for hunting rabbits, foxes etc. And i don’t want a crappy cheap gun.

For the price of a truly good spring piston, you can get a PCP, which doesn't wear you out c0cking it, nor has the heavy recoil.

I'd go for the .22 version for hunting.

depends on your location.
in the state of Oklahoma I believe the age limit is 14, but that is intermittently enforced. If you are say 6 years old no one will sell you one. but if you a mid teen on up-no problem.
the two most common type of ammunition for air rifles(also known as bb guns) have no restrictions.to buy the rifle itself in most areas should not be too much trouble.
Don't put your eye out.

Since the speed of a air rifle pellet approaches the speed of sound this looks like a daunting task. Any suggestions on how I can accurately measure the speed of a pellet fired from an air rifle? Certainly a stop watch will not work as the speed of sound will be a cause of error.
Your help/suggestions are most appreciated.

Place a microphone equa-distant from the barrel of the gun and the target. Digitaly record the sound of the shot. Analyse the audio.

Just wanna make sure i dont buy one thats too powerful

Humans are funny. Sometimes we are very hard to kill(50 cent), other times it is abnormally easy. A normal pellet gun is going to shoot between 600-900 fps. That is enough to penetrate the skin. Normally that wouldn't be fatal. The bullet does not have enough mass to cause tissue damage from impact. You will bleed and it will hurt extremely bad, but a shot anywhere on the body wouldn't kill you. However, it is possible, to shoot someone in the head, and kill them. It would be very unlikely to get a hit in the temple or whatever place is most vulnerable, plus even if you did, it is not likely going to kill anyone. I would say children are most susceptible to major injury occurring since they are smaller. However unlikely it is, I am quite certain it is possible to kill someone when something is moving that fast. I mean, I have heard of people who die from getting hit in the head from a baseball! You'd think you would end up with just a welt, but to some, it can be fatal. Always be careful, and know where that pellet is going to go.

Companies like Beeman, Crosman, Gamo, Winchester, RWS, Logun, Webley & Scott, Benjamin Sheridan, and others manufacture air rifles at affordable rates of between $50 and $200. Factors like self-containment, accuracy, sound level, and convenience are what’s important when your looking at an air rifle, and these factors fluctuate wildly from on the cheaper makes depending on the way the air rifle is powered up. Spring-piston, gas spring, pneumatic, multi-stroke, single-stroke, and CO2 each have pros and cons. For example, a spring-piston gives out the lowest amount of noise. Many people consider a CO2-powered air rifle for convenience. They’re cheap, and they don’t require repeated cocking.

Apparently you can't buy a pellet pistol in stores at NY (you can by BB ones). So I looked online, but every site says they can not ship pellet guns to NY.

Can I drive to PA (where anythings legal…) and bring a pellet gun over to NY?

Yep, you sure can, but don't get caught in N.Y. city
with it.
Here's the law:

Go for it!!!

My friends said i cant use co2 in wars cause they can be fatal i said if its airsoft its airsoft is co2 airsoft wars bad?

Not only can Co2 be used in an airsoft battle, it used to be the norm. Gun manufacturers like Asashi, Jac, and Toy Tec used to only be powered by Co2. If Co2 powered guns caused any fatalities the big retailers like Walmart wouldn't sell them. I've seen several Co2 guns on the airsoft skirmish field and they didn't pose any more of a threat than a normal AEG.

another look at the Walther ppk.

Well not that simple… but anyway, Here they are, the instructions to building your own air gun. (these pics are from the building of my most succesful gun) it is a 1/2inch PVC pipe, you can get a 10 foot PVC for like 3$ at home depot. also you got to get the PVC fittings, they are like 0.30 each, once you got the 10ft 1/2inch PVC, cut it up with a saw and make it the way i did or wathever you want.
Make sure your valve is AIR tite before you get one. the rest of instructions on vid.

Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for your actions. DO NOT shoot crap at people or animals or yourself IT CAN KILL very easily. shoot away from anything you dont want broken. have fun!

Just remembered, PVC produces POISONUS fumes if it is burned so please don’t put it in a fire.
