Do you need a air gun license to buy an air gun from sports authority in new jersey?

I am just wondering if i need a air gun license to buy a air gun from sports authority in new jersey? because my friend said his brother just walk in and bought it?

    You don't need one to buy an Airsoft gun.
    To buy a traditional airgun or bb gun it requires a NJ Firearms ID card. They are considered no different than a rifle or shorgun in NJ.
