How to increase or decrease the power of your Weihrauch HW100.
February 22nd, 2009 at 9:18 am
I’m told that the …
I’m told that the reg setting for the dommed washers set to double up like above and the hamemr spring adjusted up to match you should be making 19j muzzle engery.
Cornz, I’ll let you know when the rifle comes back if I’m producing more power.

Excellent. Sorry to …
Excellent. Sorry to hear you’re having problems with your gun. Fortunately, the HW100 is very modular and easy to service although i have yet to find a shop where i can buy parts. My gun appears to have stopped leaking since i replaced the O ring on part C1. Fragmat, ask your gunsmith if he is aware of any place selling spares….Once again, thankyou for your continuing input. It is refreshing to have some intelligent input.

I’m still waiting …
I’m still waiting to get it back, it should be over the next few day, I agree with you about being straight foward.
I didnt have the crony before I did the mod but I did take a reading after the hammer spring was changed and before I played with the red but I may have messed up the conversion to muzzle energy.
With the reg In the standard position and the hammer spring changed I was getting 880 fps with 8.4g AirArms Diablo Field( very good pellets for the hw100) that worked out to 14.4 Ft Pounds

The best heavy …
The best heavy weight pellet I’ve used is the H&N barracuda’s 10.5g they were pushing about 750′ish but that was not enough for me so I wanted more with 900ish with the 10.5g’s but for that you need the 24j Reg setting and really you need the FAC barrel which is an extra 7.5″ which I don’t want.
Think if I manage 850ish with the 10.5’s I’ll be happy because thats a 100yard hunting gun all day long and thats plenty really I think pushing over 20j of power would be stretching the accuracy to much

F1 chrony is what I …
F1 chrony is what I have, it only does ffs £89 from BAR (blackpool air rifles) The do a £130 which works things out for you but I didn;t think its worth the money.

hello fragmat,how …
o fragmat, how many turned did you make the regulator to reach the 19j or 14.4 ftlbs.
February 22nd, 2009 at 9:18 am
Hello Cronz, ok its …
24j is do able with changed washer/spacer config but I think it would distroy the accuracy.
o Cronz, ok its all sorted now, When I got it back it was pushing just under 12 ftlbs. Of course I took straight to peices and wound the reg screw almost right in (DONT TIGHTEN IT just feel where it wants to tighten) then wound it out slightly testing each time, I got it at 14.4 ftlbs which is 19Joules so thats good enough now
“So it looks like 19j or 14.4 ftlbs is the right power/fill spot” ENJOY

i tried this guide …
i tried this guide to adjust my hw100s,the one thing you do not need to do is remove the barrel.
this is completely un-necessary and all you do is break an established breech seal.
agree you don’t need the pesky locking grubscrew.

And had you read the first comment..
***UPDATE***
1. You do not have to remove the barrel.
Under the stock near the front of the gun is another bolt, unscrew this (identical to one under trigger mech) and then you can lift the gun out including the still affixed barrel.
You wouldn’t have had to waste your time by writing something i had already written…

Thanks for the fab …
Thanks for the fab video tutorial. I wanted to turn the power down slightly on my 3 yr old rifle as I was punching 13lbs with Crosman Accupells, my fav pellet. Of course I had to wind it in to see what was possible and I was able to push it to 15.87lbs +/- .30 I didn’t check accuracy though. I’m now set at 11.6 I did find that I could not screw the adjuster all the way in, if I went more than 4 turns, I found I could not close the ing lever.

this power adjust …
this power adjust will only work on Mk1 HW100’s, on the MK2’s the allen bolt has been removed and replaced with a snap bolt, you are unable to move this, to try to will ruin the working parts this will then cost you £££s to repair with a gunsmith

The locking grubscrew is accessible via hole left by rear trigger bolt, you don’t need to remove the little cam @ 3:50 to expose the shuttle

YOU WILL BE JAILED …
YOU WILL BE JAILED - BE WARNED
=============================
A carp fisherman was jailed for nine months at Stafford Crown Court after admitting possessing an illegal firearm.
Steven Fisher, from Tamworth in the West Midlands, bought the .22 rifle at a car boot sale for £500.
When tested by firearms officers from Staffordshire police, the gun was discovered to be so powerful that it could cause serious injury to humans, and, as such, required a firearms certificate to own legally.

He bought an airgun he had no idea what power it was and , it is HIS responsibility to have it tested/serviced, inspected before he uses it. Also, the gun was siezed during a domestic incident. In other words he threatened someone with it.
