At which velocity is an airgun/pellet gun fatal to a human?

Just wanna make sure i dont buy one thats too powerful
Humans are funny. Sometimes we are very hard to kill(50 cent), other times it is abnormally easy. A normal pellet gun is going to shoot between 600-900 fps. That is enough to penetrate the skin. Normally that wouldn't be fatal. The bullet does not have enough mass to cause tissue damage from impact. You will bleed and it will hurt extremely bad, but a shot anywhere on the body wouldn't kill you. However, it is possible, to shoot someone in the head, and kill them. It would be very unlikely to get a hit in the temple or whatever place is most vulnerable, plus even if you did, it is not likely going to kill anyone. I would say children are most susceptible to major injury occurring since they are smaller. However unlikely it is, I am quite certain it is possible to kill someone when something is moving that fast. I mean, I have heard of people who die from getting hit in the head from a baseball! You'd think you would end up with just a welt, but to some, it can be fatal. Always be careful, and know where that pellet is going to go.

no. stock airsoft/pellet guns arnt life threatening. if you decide to upgrade it though, it can leave some serious welts and even a broken finger if shot at point blank range. if you want a good gun get a Echo1 G36c. these are great guns, great price, good speed, and not life threatening, even if you decide to get small upgrades. just remember, dont shoot your eye out.
common sense is the fine line between saftey and disaster

Feet per second doesn't mean a thing….ANY ….REPEAT… ANY Pellet/Airgun could be fatal if you were to shoot into a friend or innocent bystander in the eyes, ear etc.. It would penetrate and go into the victims brain. To argue or discuss the possibilities of any kind of injury non-fatal or otherwise is foolishness. The technology has advanced and now there are hardened power-point pellets made for high penetration and for small game hunting. It's a new era people. These guns need to be treated with respect and safety just like ALL firearms. Anyone who asks this sort of question obviously has no idea or business owning or shooting one of these
guns without adult supervision.
