sportsmansguide asked:
www.sportsmansguide.com Pest Terminator! Messy pigeons, squirrels, rabbits, raccoon, possum, moles, rats and prairie dogs don’t stand a chance. Take ‘em out at long range with this potent performer. It zips a single .l77 cal. pellet up to 1200 FPS with PBA™ ammo (1000 FPS with lead ammo). Slyly silent, too, thanks to a built-in noise dampener, reducing sound by up to 52%. A 3-9×40 mm Scope with duplex reticle gives you pinpoint accuracy. You’ll be impressed with the quality, punch and reliability!

Sight-in your scope-fitted air rifle in only two or three shots by following Stephen Archer’s simple instructions shown here. You “see through the scope” for a clear understanding of the steps.

dog asked: I have been ridding my grandparents farm of squirrels and have noticed that a .177 air rifle kills squirrels more effectively then .22 shorts. With identicle shot placement the .22 leaves the little guys severly injured (they take 5 to 10 minutes to die) where the .177 air rifle leaves them flat dead. Niether are using hollow points, just slugs and the conical pellets.

Chase S asked: I have seen a lot of articles and writings that suggest that just about every air rifle barrel might be just a hair different then the next one. Which seems right considering the wide range of what people say is the best pellet. Now i think it is a commonly known if not agreed upon that Wadcutters (Flat heads) are particularly good for the shorter range because they are the least aerodynamic and they punch a clean hole through paper targets also they start fast but lose energy faster then say a domed shape pellet or hollow point. Which are heavier so although they go slower out of the barrel they retain more of their Feet per Second down range. But what im wondering is for lower power air rifles, those under say 1000 FPS what would be some good guidelines to follow for Air rifles under 1000FPS? Such as weight of pellets in Grains? Which special models of pellets like Raptors or Predators or Destroyers should you avoid or get?
Also what would be a good ammo for pistols say under 600FPS? Ive always personally used Wadcutters and pointed pellets but would heavier pellets work for CO2 guns?
Lastly i saw a great site that showed how from a certain distance you could shoot at a paper target 3 times and the one with the best grouping is the one that engages the rifling best and is your guns choice of pellet but i can not find that site anymore, does anyone know a good way to determine which pellet is right for your gun? I have heard some can be to big for your barrel and some can be to small as to rattle around inside destroying your rifling.
Any help would be appreciated im sure not only just by me but all those that enjoy using their air rifles and pistols.
