Finding Great Refurbished Rifle Scopes

December 25th, 2010

Heather Jeffries asked:

Some people are more addicted to original and antique-like stuffs, even with firearms. True, refurbished rifles or guns or any ammunition is also as good as the new ones that you are getting for a hefty price tag. On top of that, there is the historic value that comes with these things. And not only rifles or large items of ammunition are taken into consideration when going through restored items. Among the good devices to have from reinstated items are refurbished rifle scopes. These are especially nice and grand for their prices, especially when you landed a night vision or something that had been used by important people in important events. These are still useful for protection purposes or for recreational activities. Whether you are a safety precaution freak or just love adventures, there will always be one especial refurbished scope for you from either over the counters or online markets. Or if you simply want an addition to your collection, you can also pick out a lot from the many choices made available in comprehensive catalogues of reputed online providers.

Some of the most prevalent refurbished rifle scopes in the online market are the following;
- Gamo 4×32 Scope
- Bushnell 34124M Bushnell Trophy Adjustable Rifle Scope
- Newco Day/Night Vision Rifle Scope
- Carl Zeiss optical Diavari VM/V Rifle Scope 30mm tube
- Konus 6.525×44 Kouspro M30 Riflescope
- Nikko Stirling Diamond Sportsman Rifle Scope
- Swift Instruments 4-12×40 Nickel Riflescope
- Leapers Accushot Swat Compact Rifle Scope
- Crosman Powermaster Pump Rifle with Scope
- Marksman Zinc BB Repeater Air Rifle Scope
- Bushnell Elite 3200 Rifle Scope
- Swarovski PH Series Rifle Scope
- Trademark Global Airsoft 29 in Spring Rifle with Electronic Scope
- 4x air Rifle Scope
- Grizzly Youth Rifle Scope
- Swarovski PH Series Rifle Scope
- Carl Zeiss Optical Conquest Rifle Scope
- Leupold VX-III 2.5 -8x 36 Boone and Crockett Silver 1-Rifle Scope
- Zeiss Conquest Rifle Scope
- Burris FullField II Rifle Scope
- Crosman 2100 Classic .177 Pump Action Air Rifle with Scope
- Swarovski AV Series Rifle Scope, and Bushnell Trophy 3-9×40 Rifle Scope

You can also find night vision rifle scopes for less with these samples of refurbished rifle scopes:
- Newcon DN 310 Night Vision Rifle Scope
- 3×42 Night Vision Rifle Scope Kit
- Yukon NVMT Laser 3×42 Night Vision Rifle Scope Kit
- 2.5×42 tactical Nigh Vision Rifle Scope
- NVRS Tactical 2.5×42 Night Vision Rifle Scope

Aside from these many rifle scopes, you can still find a lot on the online market. Just make sure though that you get it from reputed providers to land with the best choice net of the hefty tag prices. Also, you are to maintain it more than what you expect a brand new one is supposed to be maintained. This is because of the fact that these items are already well used and are only restored for display or for collection purposes. If used, it must be properly cleaned and kept as specified by its specifications or directions. Doing so will ensure longer service or display life of any of these refurbished items.

Why does a.177 from an air rifle kill squirrels more effectively then a.22 short from a real rifle?

April 28th, 2010

dog asked:

I have been ridding my grandparents farm of squirrels and have noticed that a .177 air rifle kills squirrels more effectively then .22 shorts. With identicle shot placement the .22 leaves the little guys severly injured (they take 5 to 10 minutes to die) where the .177 air rifle leaves them flat dead. Niether are using hollow points, just slugs and the conical pellets.

How to determine which pellet is best for your air rifle or pistol?

April 22nd, 2010

Chase S asked:

I have seen a lot of articles and writings that suggest that just about every air rifle barrel might be just a hair different then the next one. Which seems right considering the wide range of what people say is the best pellet. Now i think it is a commonly known if not agreed upon that Wadcutters (Flat heads) are particularly good for the shorter range because they are the least aerodynamic and they punch a clean hole through paper targets also they start fast but lose energy faster then say a domed shape pellet or hollow point. Which are heavier so although they go slower out of the barrel they retain more of their Feet per Second down range. But what im wondering is for lower power air rifles, those under say 1000 FPS what would be some good guidelines to follow for Air rifles under 1000FPS? Such as weight of pellets in Grains? Which special models of pellets like Raptors or Predators or Destroyers should you avoid or get?

Also what would be a good ammo for pistols say under 600FPS? Ive always personally used Wadcutters and pointed pellets but would heavier pellets work for CO2 guns?

Lastly i saw a great site that showed how from a certain distance you could shoot at a paper target 3 times and the one with the best grouping is the one that engages the rifling best and is your guns choice of pellet but i can not find that site anymore, does anyone know a good way to determine which pellet is right for your gun? I have heard some can be to big for your barrel and some can be to small as to rattle around inside destroying your rifling.
Any help would be appreciated im sure not only just by me but all those that enjoy using their air rifles and pistols.
